Materials & build
The head and cartridge housing are made from ABS, a tough, lightweight engineering plastic. We chose it because it doesn't rust or corrode in a warm, wet bathroom, it stands up to the heat of hot showers without warping, it takes knocks without cracking if you drop it, and it holds its shape so the threads and seals stay tight. It's also light, so it won't strain your shower arm. The chrome and matte black finishes are applied over the plastic.

Unscrew your old head
Turn your current showerhead counter-clockwise by hand. Use a cloth and a wrench only if it's stuck.
Thread on Glossmere
Check the washer is seated flat, wrap the arm threads with the included tape, then hand-tighten.
Turn on the water
Check for drips. If you see one, reseat the washer flat and tighten a little more by hand.

Does it soften water?
No, and we won't pretend it does. It filters chlorine. For mineral buildup from hard water, use a chelating or clarifying shampoo once a month.
Isn't this just snake oil?
Fair question. We'll publish the independent lab report for the production cartridge here once it's ready, including what the filter was tested for and what it wasn't.
Will it fit my shower?
It fits standard 1/2-inch shower arms. A washer and thread tape are included. If you see a drip, the washer usually isn't seated flat. Reseat it and hand-tighten.
What about chloramine?
Some cities use chloramine instead of chlorine. We haven't tested chloramine yet, so we won't claim it. Check your city's water report, or email us and we'll help.
What is it made of?
The head and cartridge housing are ABS, a tough, lightweight engineering plastic.
